Middle Ages

From Page to Squire – Weapons and Armour

Good ‘Morrow! You have the priviledge of being born a boy of noble birth, therefore allowing you to become a knight during the Medieval Times. At the age of 7 you would become a page where you would learn horsemanship, archery and swordsmanship, and perform various other duties around the castle. At around 15, you are now finally strong enough to being the physical training as a squire.A squire’s training concentrates on strength, fitness and skill with various weapons. The squire cares for the knight’s horse, clean the stables, polish the knight’s armor and maintains his weapons. Learning the Code of Conduct of Chilvary is also important. As a squire, you must learn how to assist your knight. That means learning about what armour and weapons a knight needs.

Squire Training – Proving yourself in battle

In order to become a knight, you must prove yourself in battle as a squire. Lord Cesar has ordered your knight into battle against Lord Kruger. He wants to take over his castle and by doing so you must learn how to participate in a Medieval Siege. Go to the link below and learn how to take over and protect a castle.

Now you must accompany your knight into battle and prove yourself as a soldier. You have been assigned to use the trebuchet. Learn about the trebuchet in Medieval Levers. You can test different weights and projectile materials. In Destroy the Castle, make adjustments to 5 elements to use the Trebuchet to crush the castle wall.

Now that you have proven yourself in battle, create a coat of arms to represent you and your family.
